This course will take the average presenter from nervous to more confident, humble to powerful, mumbling to being clear, and, rambling to having a defined structure. And, all in one day.

Often, construction executives underestimate their own level of presentation ability. This course draws out the participant’s hidden talents to uncover their natural skill in creating authentic, warm and effective communication that can move a room of cynical construction professionals to think, feel differently, and so, take immediate action.

Watch An Expert – We will show a 5 Minute film that contains a number of presentation structures & “devices” and analyse them with you

Voice Work – Posture, relabeling nerves as excitement, vocal range, breathing & dramatic word exercises for increased voice energy and modulation.

Other Aspects of Great Presenting – We will pick a couple of the following to explore – Authenticity and personality, pace and understanding, audience engagement and, controlling your environment for maximum effect.

Feedback – What feedback is useful when learning to improve your presentation skills? Receive feedback on your impact, warmth, personal comfort, body ticks, repeated words, emotional reach, structure & your ability to move the audience to action? We ask your permission to give feedback.

Structure – Simple examples of 3- & 4-stage speech structures – We ask the group to identify the one they are most familiar with and to practice with video.

What To Do When The Audience Pushes Back – Some speakers face hostility, resistance or challenge – We ask you for your hellish scenarios and provide effective presentation counter-measures.

The World’s Best Structure – CCRB – We learn a powerful introduction structure that has been researched by Mike Harris, the UK’s most successful multiple billion pound business builder – Clarity, Credibility, Relevance and Believable. CCRB – This is done again in pairs and each person is recorded on their OWN smart phone or tablet. Gentle feedback is then exchanged in pairs and recorded on the speaker’s feedback sheet.
