This 1 day course will provide professionals within the building industry with valuable practical guidance on how to demonstrate compliance with the new part L1A and L2A approved documents and amended L1B – L2B.

The new Approved Documents detail the next step changes to the Government’s intention to achieve zero carbon dwellings by 2016 and zero carbon non-dwellings by 2019. It will focus on the requirements in detail, including the interpretation of the standards and, through the use of case studies involving real projects, will guide you through the compliance route.

We also deliver ‘Keeping up to speed with the Latest Building and Fire Regulations’ course which contains 1 hour’s content on Part L.

PART L1A (Conservation of Fuel and Power) New Dwellings
• Summary of the changes to Approved Document L1A

• Role of SAP 2005
• Practical example using the SAP 2005 software
• Sensitivity tests
• Mandatory building pressure testing

PART L1B (Conservation of Fuel and Power) In Existing Dwellings
• Summary of the changes to Approved Document L1B
• Elemental method of compliance
• Change of use, material alteration and historic buildings
• Renovation, replacement and retention

PART L2A (Conservation of Fuel and Power) New Buildings Other than Dwellings
• Summary of the changes to Approved Document L2A
